I have a confession to make: I have no idea what teams are playing in the Super Bowl, but I do know that this sporting event often has a lot of impressive commercials (if commercials can be impressive) and that several of the trailers that will “premiere” during the big game are already on the internet. Here are some of those trailers, for your Super Bowl pregame enjoyment.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Trailer

Paramount Pictures gave us an additional glimpse of the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (see above), and this trailer (like the two other Dungeons & Dragons trailers before it) shows Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, Daisy Head, and Hugh Grant understanding the assignment. We also got some nifty posters of all the characters, and I’ll include the one of Chris Pine at the end of this post in case you want to print it out and hang it in your room.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves comes out in theaters on March 31, 2023.

65 Trailer

What if Adam Driver discovered Earth 65 million years ago?! That’s the premise of the horror-esque movie, where Driver and a young girl (Ariana Greenblatt) have their own big game to deal with (see the sports ball pun there?). While a previous trailer for 65 made it ambiguous whether this dinosaur-laden planet was Earth, this trailer makes it explicit that it is!

While the tone of this film is clearly horror/thriller, I can’t help but laugh gleefully when I watch. That probably says something more about me than the movie, however, and we can all have our own, equally valid reactions to it when 65 premieres in theaters March 10, 2023.

 Fast X Trailer

This almost-four-minute trailer will likely not run in its entirety during the Super Bowl, but wow! If you wanted to get a glimpse of Jason Momoa’s character as well as the fambly we’ve been watching for ten (or eleven) films, then this is the video for you! These movies are objectively silly, but I have no problem with that! It also looks like they seed Momoa’s villain character back to events that happened in 2011’a Fast and Furious 5: Rio Heist, which is bonkers.

Here’s Fast X’s official synopsis:

Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.

In 2011’s Fast Five, Dom and his crew took out nefarious Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and decapitated his empire on a bridge in Rio De Janeiro. What they didn’t know was that Reyes’ son, Dante (Jason Momoa), witnessed it all and has spent the last 12 years masterminding a plan to make Dom pay the ultimate price.

I cannot wait to watch this big dumb movie on the big screen when it comes out on May 19, 2023.

And if you’re still here or scrolled down after I mentioned that Chris Pine D&D poster, here it is for your enjoyment. Play ball!
